At the turn of the last century, life expectancy was 37 years and there were only three million people age 65 age and older. Today, life expectancy has more than doubled to over 75 years and there are more than 35 million who are age 65 and older. As a result, churches are becoming more aware of the need to provide informed, intentional and innovative ministries and ministry opportunities to those who are celebrating the second half of life."
