Stay Informed: Take a Stand

The moral decline in our country, and around the world, is obvious . . . and almost unbelievable. And our freedom as Christians is being threatened more every day. In many countries, Christians face persecution daily . . . and many even lose their lives. Even in the United States, many Christians are being threatened, losing their jobs, losing their businesses, and suffering other such treatment for living and sharing their beliefs. In many people's eyes, Christians have become the "bad guys." Antisemitism is also raging.
From a biblical perspective, what can we as citizens of our country do? As Christians, can we make a difference? "You may think you don’t like 'politics' or that you can't make a difference. Or that exercising biblical citizenship only means being registered to vote. But there's so much more. It's taking the time to protect your family and be a champion for them. Advocating for your children, guarding their innocence, and knowing how to stand up for your Christian beliefs. It's connecting the dots between your faith and the social issues our country faces each day." Focus on the Family |

The current political and moral climate may make us feel hopeless. But each of us has a choice. Will we turn a blind eye? Will we wait until it affects us personally before we do anything? This is a good time to recall Edmund Burke's words: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." As believers we must take a stand! Perhaps that means touching one individual's life with the love of Jesus. Maybe that means getting involved with an action group. Or it may involve supporting an organization that is making a Kingdom difference.
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
